Although the Novell-Microsoft deal took place several
weeks ago, the dust from it has hardly settled. Many aspects have
already been discussed intensively elsewhere, but some things have
passed largely unnoticed.

The FSF has received quite some criticism for their plan
to prevent GPLv3 software from being used in DRM schemes. However, I
am convinced that they are right in doing so, but DRM is not the
only case where the legal system can be used to restrict software
freedom.
